Tsinelas Association Inc.’s – Their Books 2010

Ok, who wants to donate a book to less fortunate school children? Well if you feel obliged or perhaps destined or simply interested to show some generosity and compassion to our country's future, please do not hesitate to participate and pass down your used books to these learning minds. It will be guaranteed that you will feel great after you have given a very valuable source of knowledge and learning through the reading of these books to these children. If I had to pass down my elementary school books, I see it as a way of showing gratitude of having the opportunity to own these books and make me know a lot of important things in life.

Tsinelas Association will be holding their “Their Books 3” event this September 24, 25, and 26 of 2010 as a part of the Cebu Press Freedom Week. The association has been holding this kind of event for 3 years already.

As a part of the community, part of Cebu Blogger’s Society Incorporated, and a human being who is concerned of our countries education, I will invite you to come and donate books with us.

Tale of a Hostage Crisis Survivor - Quirino Bloodbath 2010

This was a note shared on facebook, that I decided to share in on my blog. I am still not convinced that the authorities (or someone in-charge of the rescue) did their best in saving the hostage's lives. In fact, I am quite suspicious that someone behind the scene, a high ranking police planned NOT to peacefully negotiate (like capturing family members of Mendoza instead of giving him his demands) with ExCop Mendoza to hide something much more sinister crime.

The letter that you are about to read below is not 100% authentic or real. the names involved and a small part of slaughter events are not even true, however, all other parts especially the "triggers" are most likely to be real and true. Still this letter is not official and you can somewhat call it a fake, but I am going to post this anyway and no one can do about it. :p
Postcripts Of A BloodBath

Mr. Mendoza was already upset even before he saw on television what the policemen did to his brother. The other tourists who remained inside the bus were complaining. Wei Ji Jiang wanted to go to the bathroom. Dao Chi Yu was hungry and the rest were just groaning and whining like they have forgotten that our lives rest in Mr. Mendoza's hands.
The hostage taker, as you know him was really nice. He treated us okay and even let the elders and the children leave the bus. He said your policemen treated him unfairly. He was a policeman too and was accused of doing something he had no knowledge of. But your government didn't listen so he used us to get everyone's attention.

Things would have never turned for the worst if he didn't see how his family was dragged out of their house and taken into custody. He was watching the news all the time as we huddled around each other behind the bus. He shouted some words in your language then started shooting in the air. A girl about my age started screaming. Mr. Mendoza demanded her to stop but she didn't understand English. God, he had to slash her neck with a knife just to put her to rest. Her boyfriend who tried to hit him was shot in the head.
Tension was rising. You can see in his face how scared and confused he was. The bus driver ran away leaving him alone with strangers from a distant land. I can see him walking across the aisle, sometimes pointing his machine gun to one of the tourists. But he tried his best not to hurt us, especially those who really cooperate.

I guess its in your nature not to inflict pain on others unless it was necessary. I remember him saying that he will free us before sundown and implored us to forget everything when we return home. But his words don't matter now. The policemen were trying to force their way in, while we all lied down to shield ourselves from bullets. Mister Mendoza blindly shoots at his enemies which I think kept them from rescuing us. I hear sobs under the chairs. Some were even shouting the names of their loved ones even when the air merely eat their words. Kevin Tang tried to escape when the glass door was was shattered, but one shot and he slumped on the floor with blood gushing from his mouth.

Heavy rain pitter-pattered on the rooftop. In old Chinese saying, it means an end to a struggle. Finally, somebody was able to open the escape hatch at the back of the bus. Freedom. But I knew Mister Mendoza was still alive. I knew he was just waiting for a chance to strike back at his enemies. So I told those around me not to escape. Let the authorities come for us instead. Then there was gunfire. He was firing at his enemies with a machine gun. Those who were at the escape hatch fled abandoning us once again. It's like a nightmare with no end and to wake up means a certain death. Then somebody from outside the bus threw a canister. It forced out a black smoke that is so painful to the eyes and putrid smelling to the nose. People started screaming. We cannot breathe. Some ran in front of the bus but Mister Mendoza warned them of stray bullets. It was too late. One was hit on the head, the other was hit on the shoulders. Bullets were now flying. Its like the authorities thought we were all dead. Mister Mendoza finally realizes his mistake and said sorry to everyone, dead or alive. He then ran towards the front of the bus where he would meet his maker. As he passed by my chair with bullets whistling overhead, I clutched my hand on the velvet curtain and wrapped it around my face. All I could think of was to stay alive - for my child who is waiting for me back in Xinjang. I know I will survive,

I will come home.

Bang Lu Min Survivor, Quirino Bloodbath

I do have a strong hunch that this incident has something to do with the ranks of the Philippine National Police. There where lots of experience hostage negotiators around who were denied to help. Media and Television has some grave mistakes in broadcasting live especially the coverage of arresting Mendoza's Cop brother, which I think triggered anger resulting in to killing most of the remaining hostages. There were lots of opportunities open for the police to save both the hostages and Mendoza, but still CHOSE to do unforgivable mistakes.

Well, MB is one of the most popular and top-class beach resorts here in Central Visayas, which I really admire their place, pools and of course the food they serve. I know, I know that it is such a wonderful paradise with such awesome places, amenities, beach, pools, rooms and food.

Ok,it is nice to know a little background history of Maribago Bluewaters Beach Resort. In year 1989, June 21, the resort only began as a family resort of the family Alegrado, since then it has grown from a 2 hectare property into a 7-hectare one, with only 40 employees that grew into 350 employees. Thanks to the hardworking founders and administrators and of course to the ever loyal guests, patrons and business parters.

But MW does not stop there, they have already expanded to Sumilon Bluewater Island resort near Oslob Cebu, to Almond Beach and Almont Inland Resorts in Surigao and Butuan respectively, and soon on 2011, the 3rd Bluewater Resort named Panglao Bluewater resort.

Amazingly American Idol Pizza from Greenwich

Well im very impressed that Greenwich's Overloaded American Idol Pizza turn out to be sooooo veeeerrry yummy! Since the pizza came with 7 favorite American toppings, I had expected the pizza would have lots of greens and I don't like to eat greenies in pizzas, i doubted it would taste good. Still the pizza lightened up my evening when we tried out the pizza. Yummy toppings of onions, mushrooms, bratwurst sausage, bacon, crunchy shoestring potatoes, and beef burger, and of course the cheese, made the American Idol Overload Pizza far more better than my ideal pizza.

Other than the pizza,Greenwich Sm City Cebu offered the Cebu Bloggers Society to try out the mouthwatering chicken pops and the delectable pizza fries. I got also a free American Idol tee. cool.
Thanks A lot Greenwich!

Paalam nAPO taga Cebu -a farewell concert

The APO Hiking Society had made timeless hits, awesome music, inspirational lyrics of love and life. as a matter of fact, several of their songs taught me to play music through guitar - they are one of my most significant influence. 4 decades of great music. the APO Hiking Society had carved their way unto our hearts -now they are bidding farewell to the music scene.
APO’s Jim Paredes, Buboy Garrovillo and Danny Javier, the ageless triumvirate of the ‘70s and ‘80s pop music, announced in a press conference last January that their series of shows from February until the end of May will be their final curtain call.

Cebu City will be very grateful for they have chosen the city to be one the cities where the trio will bid farewell to their millions of fans.
The farewell concert, entitled “Paalam nAPO sa taga Cebu” will be held at Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino on May 5, 2010 (Wednesday) at 8 pm. This is a never-to-be-missed event. i hope i can save some money to watch my idols say goodbye to the music scene.

CBS @ 2: The Cebu Bloggers Society 2nd Anniversary Celebration

In two years, blogging in Cebu has ripened from just being a mere online diary to something that takes an active role in civic and social awareness.

One of the factors that contributed to this positive development in the blogging scene in Cebu is the creation of a local blogging community.

The Cebu Bloggers Society was founded on February 14, 2008, with the main goal of uniting Cebu-based bloggers into a well-bonded community. And indeed, after its creation, individuals with diverse backgrounds but with a common interest, which is to promote Cebu and advocate blogging as a key tool for progress, converged together to establish Cebu’s first and largest blogging community.

The Cebu Bloggers Society has really grown and evolved quite significantly. From its humble beginnings, the group presently has at least 80 members and still counting. And now, the group is already anticipating its 2nd founding anniversary! Dubbed as “CBS @ 2: The Cebu Bloggers Society 2nd Anniversary Celebration”, the event is envisioned to further strengthen the bond of friendship and camaraderie within the blogging community.

The anniversary celebration will be held on Sunday, February 14, 2010, 5-9PM, at SM City Cebu Foodcourt – SM Storyland Celebration Hall.

This big and important event won’t be possible without the help and assistance of the following:

Meanwhile, one of the highlights of the celebration is a muse and escort competition. The Cebu Bloggers Society has been divided into 4 groups and we are proud to present the beautiful and charming representatives from each team:

FIREFOX – Orange team

INTERNET EXPLORER – Blue team

SAFARI – Red team
CHROME – Green team
